The City of Sunset Valley’s City Hall is adjacent to an open space that presented an opportunity to transform into a community gathering space as it already hosted the City’s community garden and trailheads the South Hills Conservation Area trail. The City and community envisioned this open space as community “backyard”, and enlisted Mend Collaborative to help envision this space. Now known as “City Hall’s Backyard”, this exciting new multi-generational space now includes a new orchard, shaded picnic area, new signage, labyrinth, community garden improvements, and fun, challenging play opportunities for all ages.
